Protesting employees said that the company has not paid the salary for the last 2 months

Shimla: Workers Union of the under-construction Luhri Hydro Electric Project protested in Rampur, Shimla. Protesting employees said that the company has not paid the salary for the last 2 months. They were not even given safety shoes while working. Due to this, there is a lot of anger among the workers. Following this they have stopped working the project.

CITU District President Kuldeep, District Secretary Amit Union President Rajpal, and Secretary Dinesh Mehta said that in the Luhri Hydro 210mw project of SJVNL, the contractor Patel Company is openly violating labor laws.

He said that the Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam is a silent spectator in this. Navratan Company SJVNL, which earned a profit of 908 crores in the financial year 2023-24, has not yet paid the wages of November and December to the workers.

Labor leaders said that the attitude of the main employer SJVNL and Patel is also absolutely stubborn regarding the problem of the workers. The workers have not been paid the bonus for the years 2023-24, or the leave salary for the years 2023 and the year 2024. The workers are not being given safety shoes. The union has demanded the project management and Patel Company fulfill the demands as soon as possible.
