Shimla: Rain and snowfall will start in Himachal Pradesh from tomorrow. Light snowfall may occur in some high-altitude areas of the state even today. Western Disturbance (WD) is becoming more active from yesterday. Given this, heavy snowfall may occur at some places in Chamba, Kangra and Kinnaur districts tomorrow (5 January), while rain is forecast in other districts.
On the other hand, on January 6, a yellow alert was issued for heavy snowfall at some places in seven districts Chamba, Kangra, Kinnaur, Kullu, Lahaul Spiti, Mandi and Shimla. Good rain is expected in other districts. Light snowfall may occur in some areas of Chamba, Kangra, Kinnaur, Kullu and Lahaul Spiti on December 7 as well. The weather will be clear from January 8.
There has been a huge rise in temperature before rain and snowfall in the state. The temperature in Shimla, Manali has broken records for many years. The maximum temperature in Shimla has broken all records since January. The maximum temperature of Shimla reached 21.6 degrees Celsius on Friday, while before this the record maximum temperature of Shimla in the month of January was 21.4 degrees on 30 January 2006.
Similarly, the minimum temperature of Thursday night in Shimla and Manali has also made a new record. The minimum temperature in Shimla has increased by 8.4 degrees from normal to 11.5 degrees and in Manali it has increased by 8.4 degrees to 7.1 degrees Celsius.
Earlier, the temperature in the first week of January has never been so high. If we talk about the month of January, then it is the second highest minimum temperature. Shimla had a record temperature of 12.7 degrees on 24 January 2009 and Manali had a record temperature of 7.5 degrees on 25 January 2009.
A huge jump has also been recorded in the minimum temperature of other cities of the state. The average minimum temperature of the state has become 4.4 degrees more than normal. Due to this, the cold has disappeared even in cold areas like Shimla, Manali, Narkanda, Kufri.
