Himachal Pradesh: Spark of fire suddenly broke out during the worship of Buddhapurnima in the upper floor of a Gompa in Ward No. 9 Hanumanibagh of the Municipal Council, District Headquarters Kullu. The fire from the lamp spread so much that it completely engulfed the place of worship. All the puja items were burnt to ashes. As soon as the fire broke out, there was panic among the people worshiping and they came out running, the information was immediately given to the Kullu fire station and the team of the fire station reached the spot within some time and controlled the fire with great effort. The three-storey building, the Buddhist temple and the Guru’s idol on the roof were also saved from the fire.
Due to the fire, the puja items and a hollow structure made of sheets for puja on the roof were burnt to ashes. In this fire incident, property worth lakhs was saved from getting burnt by the personnel of the fire station. The Buddhist followers worshiping here have been shocked after a sudden fire broke out during the puja. Around 70 people had come here to worship on Buddha Purnima.
