Shimla: The state high court has granted anticipatory bail to BJP MLA from Hamirpur, Ashish Sharma. Judge Sandeep Sharma accepted the anticipatory bail petition filed by Ashish Sharma and granted him conditional anticipatory bail. According to the condition, MLA Ashish Sharma would not be able to go abroad without the permission of the court. He will have to appear before the trial court regularly, and if for any reason there is difficulty in appearing, then a condition has also been imposed to apply for exemption from appearance in the trial court.
During the hearing on the case, Additional Superintendent of Police Navdeep Singh, Deputy Superintendent of Police Shimla Urban Manvendra Thakur, Inspector Manoj Kumar posted at Police Line Kanth, and ASI Chhotu Ram, the investigating officer of the case at Baluganj Police Station were present.
The court informed the investigating officer that the applicant has contributed to the investigation by the terms of the interim anticipatory bail that the applicant received on March 12. The investigation of the case is not yet complete. The government said that serious allegations have been levelled against the applicant, but if the court accepts the anticipatory bail petition, then strict conditions should be imposed on the applicant. The court said that the purpose of bail is to ensure the presence of the accused in the trial. Bail cannot be stopped as a punishment. A case has been registered against MLA Ashish Sharma at Baluganj police station in Shimla.
