Sujanpur MLA Ranjit Singh gives up electricity subsidy, appeals rich people to do so

On this occasion, former Block Congress Committee President Rajendra Verma, senior Congress leader Rajkumar Sharma, Reena Kumari, Pyaar Chand Thakur and Sanjeev Kumar also announced to give up electricity subsidy.

Sujanpur MLA Captain Ranjit Singh, while announcing to give up electricity subsidy, has appealed to other well-off people of the state to do the same. The MLA said that he has two electricity meters in his name, whose subsidy he has decided to give up.

His move is inspired by the call of Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, in which he had asked the well-off people to give up electricity subsidies. Captain Ranjit says that if all the well-off people give up subsidy, then the electricity board will save Rs 200 crore, which will benefit the poor people.

On this occasion, former Block Congress Committee President Rajendra Verma, senior Congress leader Rajkumar Sharma, Reena Kumari, Pyaar Chand Thakur and Sanjeev Kumar also announced to give up electricity subsidy.

All of them submitted their voluntary letter to SDO Electricity Department Chandrakant Thakur. The MLA said that Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu will visit Sujanpur this month. In this two-day visit, the foundation stone of many new development projects will be laid and the completed projects will be dedicated to the public.
