Kullu: A tempo fell into the deep Beas river near Vaishno Mata temple located on Chandigarh-Manali road, about three kilometers from Kullu. After which the tempo driver is reported to be missing.
Police is gathering information about whether the driver is safe or has been swept away in the river. The accident happened after 12 o’clock last night.
According to the police, Naveen Kumar, who runs a restaurant near Vaishno Mata temple, said that last night at about 12:15, a loud sound of a tempo falling into the river was heard. When he went closer and looked, a tempo coming from Kullu suddenly left its line and turned towards Beas river and fell into the river.
When he went to the spot, the tempo was straight in the river and the driver was present in the tempo. He went towards the deck of the tempo and after some time disappeared from the spot.
According to the police, the missing driver is being searched for. Police say that the accident appears to have been caused by the driver’s negligence and high speed.
