Shimla: The construction work on the Kaithlighat to Dhali four-lane highway in Himachal Pradesh has started, but questions are being raised about the construction work being done by the company. The poles being installed by the company collapsed in the first rain of the monsoon.
Due to this, debris is reaching people’s fields, and people’s houses are also in danger. The debris coming out of the construction work by the company is also being dumped illegally at various places, which can wreak havoc at any time. In such a situation, the local people have now opened a front against this and staged a protest against the four-lane company in Malyana Shimla on Saturday evening.
The local people say that their lands have been lost in the construction of the four-lane highway. They are not against the construction of the four-lane highway, but the company is working as per its will. Debris is being dumped everywhere. The poles being installed have also collapsed, and they can fall anytime. There is also a danger to the buildings. The villagers said that an FIR has been lodged against the company at the Dhali police station. Demands were made to the district administration and the government to stop the company’s arbitrariness, but no action was being taken. The villagers say that the construction work should be done properly and the debris should be dumped only at the marked places. If the company continues with this attitude, then a fierce agitation will be started and the four-lane construction work will not be allowed.
At the same time, Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Aniruddh Singh also said that many irregularities are being committed in the four-lane construction work from Kaithlighat to Dhali. Work is being done without permission. Permission for the second stage has not yet come. The debris is not being dumped scientifically. The debris is being dumped in the forest area. Apart from the PWD officials, the Deputy Commissioner and the concerned officials have also been talked to about this. Action will be taken against the officers who are involved in the irregularities.
