180 schools selects in PM Shri scheme

Along with basic facilities, facilities like a science lab, library, and playground will be available.

Shimla: The PM Shri scheme has been launched to improve the quality of education in the state. 180 schools have been selected under this scheme in Himachal Pradesh. Preparations are being made to implement this scheme in these schools. In this episode, a three-day workshop started at the Himachal Pradesh Institute of Public Administration on Thursday, in which the district nodal officers of the PM Shri School Scheme as well as the principals and headmasters of the selected schools participated.

The workshop was inaugurated online from Delhi by Vipin Kumar, Additional Secretary, School Education, Central Government, in the presence of Director of Composite Education Rajesh Sharma and Additional Director of Primary Education Ashish Kohli. Vipin Kumar said that 180 schools have been selected simultaneously for PM Shri schools in Himachal. In these schools, the overall development of children will be ensured by the provisions laid down in the National Education Policy 2020. Along with basic facilities, facilities like a science lab, library, and playground will be available.

He said that for effective implementation of the PM Shri School Scheme, emphasis will be laid on teacher training. Teachers of selected schools will be trained by higher institutions like IIT and IIM. There will also be a mentor for these teachers who can help them from time to time.

For this, a national mentoring plan is also being prepared. The Additional Education Secretary said that this workshop will become the basis for the training of these teachers. Samagra Shiksha Director Rajesh Sharma said that the priority of the state government is to transform the schools of the state into institutions of excellence. Primary Education Director Ashish Kohli said that the state government is focusing on the quality of education in Himachal.
