Theft at Sai Temple of Shimla, over 1 Kg Silver stolen

Police have registered a case and started an investigation.

Shimla: There has been a theft in the Sai temple of Himachal’s capital Shimla. Last night, thieves stole a silver chatra, crown and stuff from the edges of Sai chair from Sai temple located at Sandal Chakar. The incident has been captured in CCTV. Police have registered a case and started an investigation.

According to the police, a person named Vinod Chandla has lodged a complaint of theft in Sai temple at Baluganj police station. He said that on the night of March 3 at around 12:50, some people entered the temple and took away Sai Baba’s throne weighing about 1 kg of silver and other items.

The miscreants also took away the silver chatra, crown and stuff from the edges of Sai chair. The complainant told the police that the thieves committed the crime by breaking the lock of the main gate of the temple. The incident has been captured on CCTV.

However, the miscreants had entered the temple with their faces completely covered. Due to this, the faces of the miscreants are not visible. Police have registered a case in Baluganj police station. The police is investigating the CCTV footage of the temple premises and other places on the way to the temple.

A theft had taken place in this temple three years ago as well.
