Theog: After suspending 10 officers in the drinking water scam in Theog, Himachal Pradesh, the Special Investigation Unit (SIU) of Vigilance will conduct physical verification today. All tanker pickup owners, drivers, and vehicles supplying drinking water in Theog town in May and June 2024 have been called to Theog.
They have been asked to bring an RC, logbook along with the vehicle. Field staff of the Jal Shakti Department has also been called. SIU has asked everyone to join the vigilance investigation today at all costs. During this, SIU will see how much water-carrying capacity of which vehicle is. What is the condition of the vehicle? What is the RC number of the vehicle? Who used to count the water tankers?
Digital data of these vehicles will be collected by doing physical verification so that strong evidence can be presented while filing the charge sheet in court. After collecting the evidence, Vigilance will file an FIR in this case. Earlier on Wednesday, the Vigilance SIU interrogated 3 SDOs, 5 JEs, and 3 contractors for 7.30 hours at the headquarters.
The SIU has started investigating the bank accounts of the contractors. It is obvious that in the coming days, those officers and leaders will also be implicated in whose accounts the contractor would have made transactions.
The government has suspended 10 officers in the Theog drinking water scam last Friday. Along with its departmental investigation, the investigation has also been handed over to the Vigilance. The Vigilance has given the investigation of this case to the SIU formed under the leadership of Additional SP Narveer Rathore.
