Tourists rush to mountains, Shimla-Dharamshala-Dalhousie full

Thousands of tourists are turning to Himachal to get relief from the scorching heat in the plains.

Shimla: Tourists are heading towards the mountains to get relief from the heat in the plains. There is snow on the Baralacha Pass, so tourists are coming here and having a lot of fun. These days, the maximum temperature in the hilly areas is around 30 degrees. In the plains, the mercury has reached between 40 and 45 degrees. These days, the occupancy of tourists is full in most of the hotels in the capital Shimla, Manali, Dalhousie, Kasauli, and Dharamsala. On Monday, it rained in the areas around the district headquarters in Dharamsala, which has given relief to the people from the heat.

With this, farmers have also heaved a sigh of relief. The maximum temperature in Dharamsala during the day had crossed 40, but after the rain, a drop in temperature was recorded. According to the Meteorological Department, due to the activity of the Western Disturbance, there is a possibility of rain in most areas of the state from June 18 to 21.

Every day, thousands of tourists leave to visit Lahaul-Spiti. 74,918 vehicles crossed the Atal Tunnel in a week. The number of vehicles going towards Lahaul every day is also reaching around 4,000.

Tourists coming to Manali are having a lot of fun in Sissu and Koksar, besides Rohtang. According to police data, 74,918 tourist vehicles crossed the Atal Tunnel in Rohtang in a week. Of these, 30,031 vehicles went to Lahaul, while 44,887 came towards Manali. SP Lahaul-Spiti Mayank Chaudhary said that in the last week, 9,000 to 14,000 vehicles have crossed the Atal Tunnel Rohtang every day.
