Shimla: A large number of tourists are reaching the mountains to escape the scorching heat in the plains of the country. This has brought back the charm of the tourist places. Due to the holiday till Tuesday, many tourists are making advance bookings in hotels for the next 4-5 days and are visiting colder places.
Hotels in Shimla, Manali, Dalhousie, Dharamshala have already seen over 60% occupancy on Friday. According to tourism businessmen, the occupancy in the second week of April has never been above 50% before.
Due to the long weekend, 100% occupancy is expected in the next two-three days. Most of the tourists arriving in the state’s hotels are from Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh.
Tourists are going to Lahaul Spiti to see snow
Tourists who want to see snow are coming to Kullu-Manali and Lahaul Spiti. From here, tourists are visiting Atal Tunnel Rohtang, Sissu and different areas of Lahaul Spiti to see snow.
To get relief from the heat, tourists are reaching tourist places like Shimla, Narkanda, Kufri, Manali, Dalhousie, Kasauli etc. The weather remains pleasant at these tourist places.
Manali hotelier Anup Thakur said that the fight for rooms has already started in some hotels and all the rooms have been booked. He said that if we talk about the whole of Manali, there is 60 to 70 percent occupancy. It is expected to be 100 percent during the coming summer season.
Food festivals will be held in corporate hotels: MD
Tourism Corporation MD Rajeev Kumar said that the summer tourist season has begun. After the holidays in the schools, tourists have started coming to the mountains. He said that food festivals are organized for tourists in the hotels of Himachal Tourism Development Corporation. This year also such food festivals will be organized in the hotels of the corporation.
