Tragic Bus accident in Himachal Pradesh’s Mandi District Leaves 7 dead, several injured

The cause of the accident has not been ascertained yet.

In a tragic incident today, a bus of Highway Transport Corporation (HRTC) plunged into a deep gorge in Sarkaghat of Mandi, Himachal.  The death toll of the tragic incident has increased. As of now, 7 passengers have been reported dead in this incident. On the other hand, more than 20 passengers are reported to be injured. The injured have been admitted to Sarkaghat Hospital for immediate treatment.

The deceased include 4 women and 3 men. The injured were taken out of the ditch with the help of local police and villagers and taken to Sarkaghat Hospital. 3 seriously injured people have been referred to AIIMS Bilaspur.

It is being told that bus number HP-28-A-3717 left from Jamni to Sarkaghat at around 9 am on Thursday and at around 9:45 am the bus suddenly went out of control and fell into the ditch near Maseran Talgara on the Sarkaghat-Jamni-Durgapur road.

This accident occurred near Maseran Talgra on Sarkaghat-Jamni-Durgapur road. The local administration has started relief and rescue work. The corporation bus has fallen into a ditch about 150 meters below the road. More than 30 passengers were on board the bus.

The police is taking the injured to the hospital in ambulances with the help of local people. The cause of the accident has not been ascertained yet.

As soon as the information about the accident was received, Deputy CM and Transport Minister Mukesh Agnihotri left for Sarkaghat from Shimla. He will reach the hospital after some time and inquire about the well-being of the injured.

Meanwhile, CM Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu called this accident tragic and expressed condolences to the bereaved family. The Chief Minister directed the district administration to treat the injured and provide all possible help.
