Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar reached Shimla on Friday on a two-day visit. Earlier, he was scheduled to reach Shimla on Thursday. The Vice President reached Annadale in Shimla by helicopter from Chandigarh. Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla, Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, and Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri welcomed the Vice President in Annadale. Cabinet Minister Vikramaditya Singh was also present during this. After this, the Vice President’s convoy left for the Raj Bhavan. Given the Vice President’s visit, the movement of vehicles was closed on the Annadale-Vidhan Sabha (Vidhan Sabha) and Shilli Chowk-Oak Over road from 11:00 to around noon. On June 7, Dhankhar will be present as the chief guest in a dialogue program at Dr. YS Parmar Horticulture and Forestry University Nauni.
The police have made tight security arrangements for the Vice President’s visit. Due to the Vice President’s visit, the movement of vehicles will also be affected on many routes of the city today. Regarding this, the police department has appealed to the general public to use alternative routes instead of these routes. According to the police, such vehicles will be removed through cranes. The police department has also appealed to the employees and officers coming to Kumar House that only those who have parking facility should bring their vehicles to the office.

Additional police staff has also been called for this. DSP Traffic Sandeep Sharma has appealed to the city residents that people should use the above routes only when it is very necessary for the Vice President’s visit. Instead, people can travel through alternative routes.
