The team of Vigilance, Hamirpur police station has recovered 12.8 grams of chitta from a youth resident of Mandi. The accused has been identified as Amit Sharma, a resident of Bharatpur village of Dharampur tehsil of Mandi.
A case has been registered against the accused under the NDPS Act. Initial investigation has revealed that the accused had come to Hamirpur from Mandi to supply chitta.
The vigilance team laid a trap and caught the accused late Wednesday evening. The accused will be presented in court on Thursday afternoon. An NDPS case is already registered against the accused. He used to run a shop in Manali some time ago.
SP Vigilance Mandi Kulbhushan Verma said that the process of presenting the accused in court is going on.
