In the case of the death of Himachal Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (HPPCL) Chief Engineer Vimal Negi, the police questioned suspended director Deshraj for six hours. The SIT investigating the case has questioned Deshraj for the first time. The family has accused Deshraj and the then then-managing director of HPPCL, Harikesh Meena, of torturing Vimal Negi. Meanwhile, Harikesh Meena has also summoned for questioning on Monday. On Sunday, from 2 pm to 8 pm, the police asked Deshraj several questions. On the day of his disappearance on March 10, Vimal Negi received a call from Deshraj in the morning, after which Negi left for Bilaspur from Shimla.
Regarding this also, the police asked Deshraj what he had talked to Negi on the phone that day. The police also questioned Deshraj on the basis of the employees and officials of the corporation and the records taken into possession. The family has accused the officials of the corporation of misbehaving with Vimal Negi and pressuring him to do wrong things. On the complaint of Vimal’s wife, Kiran Negi, the police have registered a case of abetting suicide against Deshraj, Meena and other officers. Shimla’s SSP has formed an SIT to investigate the case. SSP Sanjeev Kumar Gandhi said that the police is investigating the case thoroughly.
Vimal Negi’s wife Kiran Negi said that my husband did not die by drowning, he was murdered. We tried trusting everyone, but did not get justice from anyone. Now we have hope from the High Court. Only the High Court can issue orders to get the case investigated by the CBI. We also demanded this from Chief Minister Sukhu, but it has not happened.
In a phone conversation, Kiran said that the post-mortem report of my husband is not known. Now I also feel that there may be some mistake in the report. The accused are roaming around openly. I know that my husband was mentally harassed in the office. He started feeling troubled for some time. The government had said that an investigation would be done within 15 days. Time has passed, but nothing has happened yet. Now I am going to the High Court. I will demand justice there.
