In the case of the death of Chief Engineer Vimal Negi, CBI called three employees of Power Corporation to the CBI office and collected facts to take the investigation forward. On Sunday, the CBI team was busy scrutinizing the investigation records in the base camp throughout the day.
On Monday, a team of CBI can go to Power Corporation headquarters and take more records in its possession. On the other hand, CBI team which was stationed in Bilaspur for two days, returned to Shimla on Saturday evening. This team had gone to Bilaspur to find out where Vimal Negi stopped on the way from Shimla to Bilaspur. Where did he go after reaching Bilaspur and whom did he meet. CBI team has also visited the place from where Vimal Negi’s body was recovered.
CBI team is taking the investigation forward by visiting different places. On the basis of complaint by the family members, the allegations related to mental pressure on Vimal Negi are being investigated. Administrative investigation report of Additional Chief Secretary (Home), affidavit of former Director General of Police and status report of Police SIT are also being studied. Some records have been sent to Junga by CBI for forensic investigation. Some evidence can also be found from Vimal Negi’s black diary and pen drive. The High Court had passed orders to hand over the investigation of Vimal Negi case to CBI. CBI had registered a case against unknown people based on the case registered in New Shimla police station.
It is worth mentioning that Additional Chief Secretary Omkar Sharma was entrusted with the responsibility of conducting administrative investigation by the state government. Now CBI will also question the employees and officers who were talked to during this period. CBI has collected facts from Vimal Negi’s wife and brother. They were also called to CBI office twice. CBI has questioned them separately.
