Himachal High Court will hear the Chief Engineer Vimal Negi’s death case again today. Yesterday, the police submitted a status report in this case to the court. On the demand of Vimal Negi’s family, the court ordered to handing of the status report of DGP-SP to them.
The family also demanded to give them the investigation report done by Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) Omkar Sharma. The government opposed this and said that the government has to see it first. On this, the court said, giving the investigation report of ACS to the family will be considered.
Similarly, the court has banned filing a charge sheet in this case without the permission of the court. Shimla Police will have to take permission from the court before filing the charge sheet.
Let us tell you that Vimal Negi’s family has filed a petition in the High Court to hand over the investigation of this case to the CBI. The reason given behind this was that they do not trust the investigation of the Himachal Police. This petition has been filed by Vimal Negi’s wife, Kiran Negi. Vimal Negi’s family said that they do not trust the police investigation at all.
Vimal Negi was missing since March 10, while the postmortem shows that he died three days later. In such a situation, the police could not find out where he was for three days. After the bail of Power Corporation Director Desraj was rejected by the High Court, the police did not arrest him.
When Director Desraj went to the Supreme Court for anticipatory bail, no lawyer from the Himachal government stood up to oppose his bail in the Supreme Court. When Vimal Negi’s body was found, the family members were not called on the spot. Due to this, Vimal Negi’s family does not trust the Shimla Police. Since all these questions were not answered, Negi’s family has lost faith in the police investigation.
