Shimla, May 24: Pre-monsoon rain has caused havoc in Himachal Pradesh. Heavy rain has caused damage in Jagatkhana near Rampur situated on the border of Shimla and Kullu. More than 10 vehicles were swept away in the drain. An orange alert has been issued in 10 districts even today.
These districts include Sirmaur, Solan, Shimla, Mandi, Kullu, Chamba, Hamirpur, Una, Bilaspur and Kangra. At the same time, rain has been continuing since late evening in many areas including the capital Shimla.
Lightning and hail storm warning
According to IMD, there is a possibility of storm at a speed of 50 to 60 kilometers per hour in the next few hours. There is also a warning of lightning and hailstorm. This can cause damage to gardeners. The Meteorological Department has advised people to be cautious and stay away from rivers and streams.
Western disturbance will be more active from 27
Rain is not going to stop in Himachal Pradesh. According to IMD, strong western disturbance will become more active between 27 and 29 May. Due to this, thunderstorms can occur along with rain in most parts. Lightning may also occur in some parts. This will reduce the temperature of most cities by 2 to 3 degrees.
The temperature will drop
At the same time, there was a rise in the day temperature during the last 24 hours. After this, the maximum temperature of 8 cities crossed 35 degrees Celsius. The temperature of Una rose to 38.8 degrees after a rise of 3.4 degrees in 24 hours, Hamirpur rose to 38.6 degrees with a rise of 2 degrees and Nairi rose to 38.5 degrees Celsius after a rise of 1.3 degrees. But now after the rain happening across the state, a drop in temperature can be recorded.
