Himachal: Mani Mahesh Yatra commences

Devotees took bath in the lake, pilgrims coming due to heat, Kartik Swami temple covered with snow.

Bharmaur: With the onset of the summer season in Bharmour, Himachal Pradesh, devotees have started visiting the holy and historical Manimahesh Dal Lake. Despite about two and a half to three feet of snow here, hundreds of devotees have taken a bath in the snow-covered lake so far.

Every year, the holy Manimahesh Yatra is held from Krishna Janmashtami to Radha Ashtami. But even before this, devotees have started coming for this yatra. During the Manimahesh Yatra, devotees coming from the country and abroad take a royal bath in the holy Manimahesh Dal Lake.

But due to the increase in extreme heat and heatwaves in the lower areas, the number of devotees has suddenly increased here. Due to the sudden increase in temperature in the lower areas, along with tourists, dozens of devotees are taking baths every day by going towards the holy Dal Lake of Manimahesh. However, this yatra has not been officially announced here yet.

Despite this, the local people have also made arrangements for food and accommodation from Hadsar to Mani Mahesh. For which the local people have also started the arrangement of staying by putting up tents on the way. Therefore, tourists and devotees reach here with the help of guides and visit the holy Mani Mahesh and bathe in the frozen lake here.

The temple of Kartik Swami and Lord Bholenath located here is covered in snow. Despite this, till now hundreds of devotees have visited the holy Mani Mahesh and are returning after bathing in this holy Dal lake.

ADM Bharmour Kulbir Singh Rana has said that there is a complete ban on traveling here by the administration. He has said that due to the summer season, the snow is melting rapidly here. Therefore, there is a constant danger for the devotees coming here. He has appealed to all the devotees to avoid traveling here until the administration makes complete arrangements for coming and going here.
