Tight security arrangements have been made in the Khanapara area for the event, and traffic diversions have also been implemented.
This will be the third consecutive term for the NDA government in Assam. Himanta Biswa Sarma will also become the first non-Congress leader to become the Chief Minister of the state for a second consecutive term.
Four ministers will also be sworn in alongside Sarma. These include Rameshwar Teli from the BJP, Atul Bora from the ally AGP, Charan Boro from the BPF, and BJP leader Ajanta Neog. Senior BJP leader Ranjit Kumar Das has been nominated as the NDA candidate for the post of Assembly Speaker.
The new government’s first cabinet meeting will be held immediately after the swearing-in. Himanta Biswa Sarma stated that the new government’s primary focus will be fulfilling the BJP’s election promises and advancing development work.
In the recently held assembly elections, the NDA secured a landslide victory, winning a record 102 seats in the 126-member assembly. The BJP secured an absolute majority in the state for the first time, winning 82 seats alone, while the AGP and BPF secured 10 seats each.
