News of atrocities against minority Hindus in Bangladesh and their murders by radical mobs is deeply disturbing to India. Indians around the world are concerned about the reports of Hindu deaths and homes being burned. Indians living in London are also worried. Last week, Indians and the Bangladeshi Hindu community in London held a peaceful protest outside the Bangladeshi High Commission against the persecution, murders, and violence against Hindus in Bangladesh. The protest was specifically against the brutal murders of Deep Chandra Das and Amrit Mandal.
Following this, news arrived of another Hindu businessman being burned alive on the first day of the New Year. Currently, the Hindu community in Bangladesh is appealing to India for help to escape the violence of Islamic mobs. Many are demanding that India open its borders so they can find safety. Protests against this violence and tragedy are taking place in India and abroad. When a protest was held in London regarding this, five members of a pro-Khalistan group arrived to disrupt it. These individuals were shouting slogans, displaying flags, and causing a disturbance.
The Bangladesh Hindu Association and Indian Hindus stated that their protest was to show support for the victims and demand justice, which is why they were protesting outside the Bangladeshi High Commission. However, the Khalistani supporters disrupted the peaceful atmosphere by shouting anti-India slogans. The UK Insight Group in London said it was shocking to see Khalistani extremists trying to suppress voices advocating for the rights of minorities. The question arises: why are these Khalistanis so bothered by people raising their voices against the atrocities against the Hindu community in Bangladesh? The people protesting there were also playing the Bangladeshi national anthem and simultaneously demanding an end to the killings of Hindus in Bangladesh. The fact that Khalistani extremists are lashing out and raising anti-India slogans is quite disturbing. This raises questions based on extremist communalism.
