Hisar-Chandigarh NH-52 in bad condition: Trolley carrying paddy overturned

The dilapidated condition of the road near the village Sarasaud on the Hisar-Chandigarh National Highway 52 is causing significant inconvenience to drivers. On Wednesday morning, a trolley loaded with paddy overturned due to potholes and mud, destroying the farmer’s entire crop. The trolley was removed with the help of a crane, but the paddy has been damaged by falling into the mud.

Despite the water flow on the highway having stopped for the past month, deep potholes and mud remain on the road for about 500 meters. In the first week of September, to save the village of Sarasaud from being flooded, villagers broke the highway divider with a JCB and diverted the water towards Khedi Barki. The continuous flow of water severely damaged the road. Now, despite the water flow stopping, the road has not been repaired, leading to frequent accidents.

Drivers say that the potholes and mud have made traveling on the highway dangerous. The NHAI has directed the toll company to take immediate steps to repair the road. Local people and farmers have demanded that the administration that the road should be repaired soon so that accidents and losses can be avoided.
