Barwala: For the past two days, high-voltage power lines have been lying broken on the Dhansu-Dhigtana road in the Barwala region of Hisar district, raising fears that a major accident could occur in the area at any moment. Local villagers and passersby have expressed their displeasure regarding the functioning of the electricity department and have demanded an immediate resolution to the problem.
According to the villagers, a severe storm that struck two days ago caused damage to trees, electric poles, and power lines at several locations. During this incident, the high-voltage power lines running along the Dhansu-Dhigtana road also snapped and fell to the ground. Although more than two days have passed since the incident, the Electricity Department has neither removed the wires nor repaired the power line so far.
Villagers State: Officials Have Been Informed
Locals assert that the concerned officials and employees have been informed about this matter on multiple occasions; however, the department has failed to take any concrete action. The high-voltage wires lying along the roadside and, in some places, in close proximity to the road—continue to pose a grave threat to passersby, farmers, and motorists.
Risk of Injury to Livestock and Children
Villagers pointed out that a large number of farmers use this route daily to commute to and from their fields, while school and college students, as well as other motorists, also utilize this road. Consequently, if any person or animal were to come into contact with these wires, it could result in a major tragedy.
Villagers Demand Removal of Broken Wires
The villagers have urged the administration and the Electricity Department to immediately dispatch a team to the site to safely remove the broken wires, repair the damaged line, and restore the power supply to normal functioning. The residents argue that, rather than waiting for an unfortunate incident to occur, the department should take timely action.
