Power cables stolen from over 20 tubewells in Hisar; thefts reported in a single night

Uklanamandi: In Bithmada village, located in the Uklana area of ​​Hisar district, unidentified thieves stole power cables from tubewells across 20 to 25 farms in a single night, causing significant loss to the farmers. The incident came to light in the morning when the farmers arrived at their fields.

There is immense resentment among the farmers over this mass theft. Farmers in the area surrounding the Hansawala Minor canal in Bithmada village have installed tubewells for irrigation purposes.

Farmers Anil Jangra, Rajesh Dhattarwal, and others reported that unidentified thieves reached the tubewells late at night, cut the power cables, and made off with them. The farmers discovered the theft upon arriving at their fields in the morning.

Theft occurred in the fields of 25 farmers

The farmers stated that upon contacting neighboring landowners, they learned that similar thefts had occurred in the fields of approximately 20 to 25 farmers. After cutting the cables from the tubewells, the thieves sat by the canal, stripped off the plastic insulation, and took away the copper wires found inside.

Large quantities of plastic cable casings and other debris were found scattered at the scene. Villagers say that while several incidents of power cable theft have occurred in the area previously, the lack of effective action against the perpetrators has emboldened the thieves.
