On Wednesday morning, near Gharaunda on National Highway 44, a truck heading towards Delhi lost control and crossed the divider. It collided with a Punjab Roadways bus, a car, and a bike coming from Karnal. Four people died on the spot. The uncontrolled truck collided with vehicles in the opposite lane, broke through the grill, and ended up on the service lane.
The truck driver is also seriously injured in the accident. Police and NHAI teams arrived at the scene upon receiving information. The accident occurred around 7:45 am. Of the four injured, two were taken to Gharaunda and two to Karnal, where doctors declared them dead.
The bike riders, Sanjeev, a resident of Kohand, and Vishal, a resident of Gharaunda, and two other young men from Aligarh, who were in the car, died. Sanjeev and Vishal were computer operators in the CID department. The other two have not yet been identified.
