Himachal: Winter session of Assembly in Tapovan from tomorrow, govt to arrive today

The winter session of the Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly is scheduled to begin on Wednesday in Tapovan, Dharamshala. MLAs and officials will depart for Dharamshala on Tuesday. VIP movement will increase in Dharamshala due to the session. Top officials from various government departments will arrive in Dharamshala to facilitate this.

Due to the winter session, the movement of complainants will increase in Tapovan instead of Dharamshala. Police personnel and officers began arriving in Dharamshala on Monday evening to handle security arrangements and will be deployed sector-wise after a duty briefing on Tuesday.

All departments remained busy on Monday in Dharamshala, preparing for the winter session. Officials also conducted visits and inspected security arrangements. Both legislative parties will strategise for the session in Dharamshala on Tuesday.

The Congress legislative party, chaired by Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, and the BJP legislative party, chaired by Leader of the Opposition Jairam Thakur, will brainstorm strategies to corner each other within the House.

Additionally, a series of meetings with officials regarding the session continued on Monday. More than 600 questions from MLAs have reached the Assembly Secretariat for the winter session, which will be held in Tapovan from November 26 to December 5.
