HPPSC Result: 162 Medical Officers selected; Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission declares final results.

The Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission has declared the final results for the recruitment examination for the post of Medical Officer (General Wing) Group-A (Job Trainee) in the Department of Health and Family Welfare. The Commission has recommended 162 candidates for appointment against a total of 232 advertised posts, while 70 posts across various reserved categories remain vacant due to the unavailability of eligible candidates.

According to the press note issued by the Commission, the advertisement for the Medical Officer recruitment was released on November 15, 2025. As part of the recruitment process, a screening test and a Subject Aptitude Test (SAT) were conducted on February 22, 2026. Following the declaration of the exam results on May 16, 2026, 299 candidates were shortlisted for the personality test. The personality tests were held from June 1 to June 11, 2026, based on which the final selection list was released.

162 Recommended Against 232 Posts
The Commission has filled all 49 posts in the General category. Additionally, selections have been made for 14 posts for Scheduled Castes, 7 for Scheduled Tribes, 20 for Other Backward Classes, and 12 for the Economically Weaker Section. Furthermore, 59 posts in the ‘Wards of Ex-Servicemen’ category have been filled.

70 Posts Remained Vacant
According to the Commission, eligible candidates were not available in certain sub-categories of Orthopedically Physically Handicapped, Ex-Servicemen, and Wards of Freedom Fighters. Consequently, a total of 70 posts remained vacant. These include 18 posts for UR (Orthopedically Handicapped), 35 for UR Ex-Servicemen, 2 for SC Wards of Freedom Fighters, 5 for SC Ex-Servicemen, 3 for ST (Orthopedically Handicapped), 2 for ST Ex-Servicemen, 2 for OBC Wards of Freedom Fighters, and 3 for OBC Ex-Servicemen.

Shreya Walia Tops the Merit List
Shreya Walia has secured the first position in the released merit list. Shreya Chandel holds the second position, and Shagun Sharma is in the third. The list includes the names of 162 candidates, such as Ravikant, Shivani Sharma, Sakshi Thakur, Shubhangi, Aarti, Divya Chauhan, and Rakesh Kumar.

42 Posts Filled from Other Categories
The Commission has clarified that due to the unavailability of eligible candidates in the Ex-Servicemen dependent category, 42 posts have been filled from the respective residual categories. These comprise 24 posts from the General category, 8 from SC, 5 from ST, and 5 from OBC. This action has been taken in accordance with the guidelines issued by the Personnel Department of the state government.
