Former AAP MLA HS Phoolka joins BJP, Chief Sunil Jakhar extends heartful welcome

Chandigarh: Senior lawyer HS Phoolka has taken a significant turn in Punjab politics by joining the Bharatiya Janata Party. On this occasion, the senior leadership of the party, including Punjab BJP President Sunil Jakhar, Hardeep Puri and others, were also present.

HS Phoolka is especially known for fighting for justice for the victims of the 1984 Sikh genocide. He established a distinct identity by representing victims’ families for many years.

HS Phoolka joined the Aam Aadmi Party in 2014 and was elected MLA from the Dakha assembly constituency in 2017. However, he resigned from his MLA post in November 2018.

Now, after a hiatus of 8 years, Phoola has joined the BJP. This decision of HS Phoolka is being seen as a significant development in Punjab politics. The party has cited his experience and legal background as a strength.

Sunil Jakhar’s reaction to Phoolka’s joining

Punjab BJP Chief welcomed HS Phoolka in the party. In a post on X, he said, “Advocate H.S. Phoolka, who has fearlessly fought for justice for the Sikh community and is respected by every Sikh with great regard, has joined the BJP today. The association of such a Sikh personality with the BJP shows that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the party has been sincerely working for the Sikh community and Sikhism, and that the false narratives created by opponents are being shattered in the face of truth.
