Illegal Arms Network Busted: Member of extortion gang arrested with pistols

In a decisive action against illegal weapon networks, Kapurthala Police arrested an active member of the Jagga Fukiwal extortion gang. The gang is active around Sultanpur Lodhi, as per the police. Police arrested a member of this gang and also recovered arms from his possession. The information has been shared by Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav.

As per the police, the arrested member has been identified as Amandeep alias Aman, a resident of Tashpur, Kapurthala. The police team also recovered four country-made pistols from the accused’s possession.

Police said that Amandeep was instrumental in supplying weapons to local gangs to carry out firing and extortion activities.

During the investigation, accused Amandeep revealed that he had supplied two pistols to his associate Lovepreet alias Baba, who has also been arrested by the police.  Further from Baba’s possession, the Police recovered one .32 bore country-made pistol, one .315 bore country-made pistol, and two live rounds. With this, the total recovery reached 09 country-made pistols.

Further interrogation led to the recovery of three more country-made pistols buried at the house of the accused, Amandeep. With this, the total number of recovered pistols has reached 09.

FIR has been registered at PS Sadar, Kapurthala. Further investigation is underway to trace backward and forward linkages and dismantle the entire illegal arms network.

DGP Gaurav Yadav assured that the Punjab Police remains steadfast in its mission to curb organised crime and eliminate illegal arms networks across Punjab.
