Illegal liquor factory busted in Jalandhar, two accused arrested

Jalandhar Rural Police have busted an illegal liquor factory in Rurka village, Goraya, recovering a large quantity of raw material and a working still. Acting on a tip-off, the police seized approximately 10,000 liters of raw material (lahan) and 100 liters of finished liquor from the site.

Police arrested two suspects, while the main accused managed to escape. A police team led by SHO Sikandar Singh conducted a surprise raid on Rurka village. Police had received information that poisonous liquor was being manufactured and supplied on a large scale at this location. Upon arrival, the police found a large still in operation, producing liquor in a large pot.

During the search, police discovered four large drums buried in the ground and covered with cement to avoid suspicion. A total of 10,000 liters of raw material was recovered from these drums and the still. According to the police, the still was so large that it could process up to 5,000 liters of raw material at a time.

Two brothers were running the network

Police investigation revealed that this illegal operation was being run by two brothers, Sukhdev Singh and Bahadur Singh. Police arrested Sukhdev Singh and his associate, Nathu, a native of Bihar. The other brother, Bahadur Singh, escaped from the scene, and a search is underway to apprehend him. The arrested suspects have a previous criminal record.
