Imran Khan’s Sister Held After Protest Outside Adiala Jail Sparks Chaos

Rawalpindi: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders and sisters of former Prime Minister Imran Khan were again barred from meeting him in Adiala Jail on Tuesday. The family and senior party leaders were forced to stage a sit-in outside the jail. This ban violates the Islamabad High Court’s (IHC) order of March 24, which directed Imran Khan to be allowed to meet him twice a week (Tuesday and Thursday).

During the protest, police arrested Imran Khan’s sister, Aleema Khan, further angering PTI supporters. Party officials say the administration is deliberately disobeying the court order.

“We will not budge”: Aleema Khan continues protest

Speaking to reporters, Aleema condemned the government and said that preventing the family from meeting Imran Khan is a state-backed restriction. She said the family will continue the protests and maintain their presence outside the jail.

Aleema also reported that jailed PTI President Imran Khan has instructed Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi to begin preparations for a large-scale protest.

Aleema said, “We are on the streets as per Imran Khan’s instructions.”

PTI alleges: Imran kept in isolation

PTI General Secretary Salman Akram Raja said that meeting with his family is a fundamental right for prisoners. He alleged that Imran Khan has been kept in solitary confinement. Raja said that the party will continue peaceful protests by going to the jail even if visits are not allowed.

Legal Cases and Health Concerns Continue

Imran Khan is currently serving a sentence in Adiala Jail for a corruption case. He also faces several cases under the Anti-Terrorism Act related to anti-government protests. PTI leaders have repeatedly expressed concerns about his health and safety.
