    Income Tax Raid Ends After 84 Hours at Senior Neurosurgeon’s Premises in Hisar

    Hisar, Haryana: The Income Tax Department’s raid on the residence and hospitals of senior neurosurgeon Dr. Umesh Kalra in Hisar concluded after 84 hours. Income Tax Department teams continued the survey and investigation until Saturday. Numerous documents and records related to the hospitals were seized during the raid.

    Documents Related to the Sale of Sarvodaya Hospital Seized

    During the investigation, the Income Tax Department also seized documents related to the sale of Sarvodaya Hospital. The investigation revealed that an agreement for the sale of the hospital was signed with Dr. Umesh Kalra in March 2025, while the registration was completed in August 2025. The deal was finalized for approximately ₹102 crore.

    According to the investigating agency, Dr. Umesh Kalra’s PAN card was found linked to a new bank account even after the sale of the hospital. Furthermore, irregularities such as overstating the number of beds in billings were also discovered.

    Dr. Umesh Kalra’s View

    Dr. Umesh Kalra states that he sold Sarvodaya Hospital to Dr. Vineet Yadav in August 2025. He also showed the Income Tax Department team the documents related to the sale agreement.

    He claims that the three-day investigation revealed no suspicious transactions. Surveys were also conducted at relatives’ homes and at Sarvesh Hospital, but no incriminating material was found.

    Hospital Management Claims: Asked to Change PAN

    Jaspal Singh, CEO of Sarvodaya Hospital, stated that he had repeatedly requested Dr. Kalra to change his PAN card via email. According to him, there has been no billing beyond the number of beds in the hospital and all records are maintained systematically.

    Income Tax Department Team Seals Rooms, Seizes Records

    The Income Tax Department team sealed some rooms at Sarvodaya Hospital and seized all related records. This action was led by Gaurav Bansal, Joint Commissioner of the Income Tax Department, Gurugram Range. The team also included officials from Rohtak, Ambala, and Chandigarh.

    Investigation into the purchase of eight hospitals in six months

    The investigation also revealed that after purchasing Sarvodaya Hospital, Dr. Vineet Yadav purchased eight more hospitals within six months. The documents stipulated that the hospitals would only be operational after full payment, but the investigation revealed that the hospitals began operating before full payment was made.

    According to the Income Tax Department team, one hospital’s actual capacity was 95 beds, while billing was being done based on 200 beds. Other financial irregularities are also being investigated.

    Raids at the premises of several doctors

    Income Tax Department teams also raided the premises of Dr. Rajkumar Ahuja, Dr. Madan, and Dr. Aviraj, partners associated with Sarvesh Hospital, in Sector 13.
