Income Tax Raids Vardhman Group Offices in Jaipur, Crores Recovered Amid Tax Evasion Probe

Jaipur: The Income Tax Department on Thursday raided more than half a dozen locations of Vardhman Group, active in real estate and education sectors, in Jaipur. The Income Tax Department team reached the head office located at Vardhman International School campus in Mansarovar in the morning. Cash worth crores of rupees was recovered from the office. A note counting machine was also brought.

Tax evasion charges through cash transactions

According to sources, a complaint was received by the group alleging tax evasion through cash transactions. This action is being taken on the basis of the complaint. The Income Tax Department is also conducting searches at other places.

Documents and digital devices examined

Documents and cupboards were examined in the head office. The bank accounts, properties and digital devices of the group’s top officials are also being examined.

Documents of irregular transactions found

According to sources in the Income Tax Department, a team of the Income Tax Investigation Wing surveyed the Vardhman Group on Wednesday and turned the investigation into a raid. During the investigation, the Shyam Nagar office and Mansarovar School were visited. The investigation also revealed irregular documents related to the purchase and sale of flats and land.

Further action is underway

The Income Tax Department said that considering the seriousness of the matter, the investigation is being completed and necessary further action will be taken.
