Independence Day 2025: Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann hoists tricolor in Faridkot

The Punjab government’s state-level function on Independence Day is in Faridkot. CM Bhagwant Mann hoisted the flag at the Nehru Stadium. Tight security arrangements have been made by the police. About 2 thousand police personnel have been deployed for security in this program.

Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann reached the venue where he recieved warm welcome. Along with Chief Secretary and Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav, Bhagwant Mann hoisted the tricolor.

In his speech, he said that Punjab has made 80 percent sacrifices for the country’s independence. Trains full of dead bodies had arrived here during partition. He said that this independence has cost us a lot. Now we will work hard till our last breath to maintain brotherhood.

Apart from this, the entire venue will be monitored with CCTV and drone cameras. The area has been declared a no-flying zone. The police is also alert this time because Gurpatwant Singh Pannu, the head of the Khalistani terrorist organization Sikh for Justice (SFJ), has threatened to kill CM Bhagwant Mann.

The sale of paint spray has been banned in Faridkot, as there is a possibility of wrong slogans being written with paint. The leaders of many employee organizations including PTI Unemployed Teacher Union, Panbus Employees Union have been placed under house arrest by the police.

Paid obeisance at Tilla Baba Farid

In the morning, CM Mann first paid obeisance at the historic Gurdwara Tilla Baba Farid. After that, he reached to participate in the state-level program. He is taking salute of the march past. After this, tableaux of various departments will be presented. Finally, the CM will honor 26 personalities, police personnel and families of freedom fighters who have done excellent work in various fields.

On this occasion, 4 police personnel will be awarded the Chief Minister’s Rakshak Medal and 15 officers and employees will be awarded the Chief Minister’s Medal to recognize the services of Punjab Police.
