India Issues Security Advisory for Nationals Working on Ships in Black Sea Amid Rising Missile, Drone Attacks

New Delhi: India has issued a security advisory for its nationals working on commercial vessels operating in or passing through the Black Sea region, asking them to carefully assess risks amid growing security threats, including missile and drone attacks.

The advisory comes after a series of attacks on commercial shipping in the conflict-affected region, raising concerns over the safety of Indian seafarers working aboard vessels operating near Ukraine and surrounding maritime areas.

MEA Urges Seafarers to Check Safety Measures Before Taking Jobs

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) advised Indian nationals seeking employment on vessels in the Black Sea to obtain detailed information from employers, recruitment agencies and ship operators regarding safety arrangements before accepting assignments.

The advisory highlighted that the security situation in and around the Black Sea remains highly volatile due to the ongoing conflict and increasing risks to maritime operations.
