India Clinch Asia Cup 2025 Title With Five-Wicket Win Over Pakistan in Dubai

Dubai: India defeated Pakistan by five wickets in a tense Asia Cup 2025 final at the Dubai International Stadium on Sunday, with middle-order batter Tilak Varma anchoring the chase with a composed 69-run knock.

Chasing 147 for victory, India overcame a mid-innings collapse before Varma held the innings together. Shivam Dube’s dismissal in the penultimate over left India needing 10 runs off the final over, but the team held its nerve to seal the win and lift the trophy.

Earlier, Pakistan appeared in control at 113 for one, with Sahibzada Farhan (57) and Fakhar Zaman (46) providing a strong platform. However, their innings unraveled dramatically as they lost nine wickets for just 33 runs. Kuldeep Yadav spearheaded the collapse with figures of 4/27, while Jasprit Bumrah (2/25), Varun Chakravarthy (2/30), and Axar Patel (2/26) delivered key breakthroughs. Only Saim Ayub (11) managed to reach double figures among the remaining batters. Pakistan were bowled out for 146 in 19.1 overs.

In reply, India lost openers Abhishek Sharma, Shubman Gill, and Suryakumar Yadav cheaply, as Pakistan’s pace duo Shaheen Afridi and Faheem Ashraf struck early blows. But Varma’s composed innings, supported by useful contributions in the lower order, guided India home despite the late scare.
