India-Germany Create New Framework to Enhance Defense Cooperation

New Delhi: India and Germany signed a new framework for defense industrial cooperation on Wednesday. The agreement was reached during a meeting between Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius in Berlin.

Emphasis on Advanced Technologies

The two leaders discussed a number of key security and defense issues. Particularly, they agreed to promote joint development and production of advanced and specialized technologies. Emphasis was also placed on further strengthening military cooperation.

Focus on Strengthening Relations

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh arrived in Berlin on Tuesday on a three-day visit. The primary objective of this visit is to further strengthen defense cooperation and industrial partnership between the two countries.

Agreement on UN Peacekeeping Missions

During the meeting, a separate agreement was also signed on cooperation in training UN peacekeeping missions. Rajnath Singh described the visit as a symbol of the deep friendship, trust, and coordination between India and Germany.

Discussion on Global Challenges

The meeting also discussed emerging global challenges and geopolitical issues. Rajnath Singh said that the India-EU Security and Defence Partnership is an important step in this direction, which will further strengthen mutual cooperation.
