India-Pakistan match creates history: 163 million viewers watched the match on JioHotstar

New Delhi: The high-voltage match between India and Pakistan created history on the digital platform. The match was watched by 163 million (163 million) users on JioHotstar, the largest digital reach for any ICC T20 match ever.

Played at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on February 15, the match recorded 20 billion minutes of watch time, more than the 2024 T20 World Cup final.

20 billion minutes of watch time, a 42% increase

This match became the most-watched match of the league stage. A total of 20 billion minutes of digital viewership was recorded, a 42% increase compared to the previous edition.

Additionally, a 56% increase in digital reach was recorded compared to the 2024 India-Pakistan match, reflecting the growing passion for T20 cricket.

Anup Govindan, Head of Sports Sales at JioHotstar, said that this record reflects strong viewer engagement. Siddharth Sharma, Head of Content, called it a testament to the immense passion for the T20 World Cup in the country.

Team India reaches Super 8

With this win, India improved its record against Pakistan in the T20 World Cup to 8-1 and secured a place in the Super 8 stage. The next round will begin on February 21.

A total of 12 matches will be played in the Super 8. Two groups will consist of four teams, each playing against the other three teams in their group. The top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals.

Doubleheaders will be played on February 22, 26, and March 1, while single matches will be played on the remaining days between February 20 and 28.

The first semi-final will be held on March 4, while the second semi-final will be played on March 5 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The final will be played on March 8. If Pakistan reaches the knockouts, all of its matches will be played in Colombo.
