    ISSF Junior World Championship 2026: India Tops Medal Table with 24 Medals

    New Delhi: India concluded its dominant campaign with an extraordinary haul of 24 medals, comprising 7 gold, 8 silver, and 9 bronze at the ISSF Junior World Championship 2026 in Suhl, Germany.

    Strong Start Sets the Tone

    The country’s campaign got off to a flying start with Sejal Kamble winning the individual gold medal in the 10m Air Pistol Women Junior event, while Himanshi secured the bronze. The trio of Sejal Kamble, Vanshika Choudhary, and Navya Bishnoi then claimed gold in the team event to give India an early lead in the championship.

    Continued Gold Rush in Shooting Events

    The momentum stayed firmly with India as Sameer won gold in the 25m Rapid Fire Pistol Men Junior event and Rohit Kanyan emerged victorious in the 50m Rifle 3 Positions Men Junior competition. Prachi Gaikwad added a silver medal in the 50m Rifle 3 Positions Women Junior event, while India secured bronze medals in team events across categories.

    NRAI Praises Historic Achievement

    NRAI President Kalikesh Narayan Singh Deo said the achievement reflects the strength of India’s grassroots programmes and the growing depth of talent across rifle and pistol events, both individual and team formats.

    Consistent Medal Haul Across Disciplines

    India continued to add medals through Anvii Rathod (bronze, 10m Air Rifle Women Junior) and Pritam Kendre (gold, 10m Air Rifle Men Junior). Strong performances also came in pistol events, including multiple team bronzes and mixed team silver medals.

    Double Podium and Mixed Team Success

    In the 10m Air Pistol Men Junior category, Shiva Narwal won silver and Yug Pratap Singh Rathore secured bronze. Narwal also contributed to team and mixed team silver medals alongside his teammates.

    Strong Finish Seals Top Position

    On the final days, India strengthened its lead with golds from Abhinav Deshwal and the 10m Air Rifle Mixed Team pair of Shambhavi Shravan Kshirsagar and Abhinav Shaw, along with several silver and bronze medals across pistol events.

    With consistent performances across rifle, pistol, individual, team, and mixed events, India finished at the top of the standings, confirming a dominant overall championship run.
