India monitors West Asia developments, continues diplomatic outreach to Gulf nations: MEA

New Delhi: The MEA stated that India is keeping a close watch on developments in the West Asia region amid ongoing geopolitical tensions. Officials reiterated that the situation is being assessed continuously to safeguard national interests and overseas citizens.

Strong diplomatic engagement with Gulf countries

According to the ministry, India has stepped up engagement with Gulf nations through high-level visits and continuous diplomatic communication. National Security Advisor Ajit Doval recently visited the UAE and held discussions with its leadership, reflecting ongoing strategic coordination.

Focus on India–UAE strategic partnership

During the visit, both sides discussed strengthening the India–UAE Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and also exchanged views on the regional situation. The MEA highlighted that this was part of a series of recent high-level interactions aimed at deepening ties with Gulf partners.

Safety and welfare of Indian nationals

The government also emphasized that Indian missions in the region are working round-the-clock to ensure the safety and welfare of Indian citizens. Embassies are in constant contact with local authorities and are issuing advisories and assistance where needed.

Ongoing monitoring and coordination

Officials confirmed that India remains in regular touch with countries across West Asia and continues to monitor developments closely, particularly in areas affecting trade, energy security, and diaspora welfare.
