Six Indians Shine at US Kids Indian Golf Championship

A group of talented young Indian golfers delivered standout performances at the fifth edition of the US Kids Golf Indian Championship, held recently at the Classic Golf and Country Club in Manesar. Despite challenging conditions including smog and reduced daylight, the Indian contingent impressed across multiple age categories with skill and resilience.

    Boys Make Strong Showing

Nihal Cheema (Boys 8) was among the brightest stars, being the only golfer in his category to shoot par or better on all three days, finishing well ahead of his nearest rival. He posted impressive nine-hole rounds of 36-34-33, finishing the final day bogey-free with three birdies.

In the Boys 11 category, Drona Singh Dhull stood out with a strong performance, scoring four birdies in his final nine holes and carding the best round of the day (4-under 32).

Meanwhile, Prince Bainsla dominated the Boys 15-18 group, winning the category after a remarkable 6-under 66 in the first round — the best round of the week among all players.

     Girls Deliver Exceptional Golf

The girls’ section also saw strong Indian performances. Aanya Dandriyal (Girls 11-12) edged out competition in a thrilling finish, winning a tiebreaker against Malaysia’s Choi Quinn Cie after both tied at 196 over 45 holes.

Other young Indian girls who impressed included:

    • Naaysha S Sinha (Girls 8)

    • Gairat Kaur Kahlon (Girls 9-10)

    • Shiksha Jain (Girls 13-14)

     Cash Prizes and New Incentives

For the first time at this event, cash prizes were awarded to winners up to fifth place. The top winners received Rs. 25,000, while second and third place finishers received Rs. 10,000. Competitors placing fourth to fifth also earned Rs. 5,000 each.

Rajesh Srivastava, President and Founder of US Kids Golf India and Asia, said the introduction of cash prizes was aimed at making the tournament more attractive and rewarding for the young golfers and their families, who invest so much effort into their development.

Srivastava also shared plans to bring in foreign coaches and offer international training opportunities and hinted at a future Asian Championships featuring top youth golfers from across the continent.
