India’s growing military power

Recently, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, while announcing the completion of 110 infrastructure projects of the Border Roads Organisation in various parts of the country, said that due to our hard work over the past ten years, our defence production, which was Rs. 46,000 crore in 2014, has now increased to Rs. 1.51 lakh crore. Our defence exports, which were less than Rs. 1,000 crore ten years ago, have now reached Rs. 24,000 crore. These projects, completed at a cost of Rs. 5,000 crore, include 28 roads, 93 bridges, and 4 other miscellaneous works across different states of the country.

Appreciating the vigilant contribution of the border security forces, the Defence Minister said that the border security forces have bravely confronted the enemy and secured the country.
A continuous campaign of spreading terrorism in India through drone attacks or human trafficking from Pakistan is being carried out to create unrest. The massacre committed by terrorists during the Pahalgam attack, where they differentiated between Hindus and Muslims, was the result of which Operation Sindoor was launched. In this regard, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said that we have become so powerful that our armed forces could have done much more during Operation Sindoor, but they responded with restraint.

This was an example of the discipline of the Indian Army. The Indian Army defeated the enemy. Although Mr. Trump repeatedly says that he forced both countries to reach an agreement by threatening a tariff war, our military commanders, Defense Minister, and Prime Minister say that our Indian Army has become so self-reliant and powerful that it adopts an aggressive stance instead of a defensive one and strikes the enemy in their own territory, therefore, it did not need Trump’s mediation.

It forced Pakistan to surrender on its own. The Defence Minister also mentioned that we do not depend solely on the import of foreign weapons for our weapons, security, or for fighting wars; we have made every effort to make the Indian Army self-reliant in the last few years. The country is not only importing weapons from developed nations but has also started exporting its own manufactured weapons to several countries. This is technological innovation.
Currently, our exports have reached 24,000 crore rupees. Our army is accelerating the completion of advanced engineering methods and infrastructure projects. Operation Sindoor is an example of India’s assertiveness, in which Indian ships went 350 kilometres inside Pakistan to destroy terrorist bases. Rajnath Singh encouraged citizens living in border areas, including those in Ladakh, Leh, and Arunachal Pradesh, to support the armed forces and also expressed gratitude for their support. Undoubtedly, there has been a significant change in the Indian Army’s approach. The Indian Army is now capable of standing on its own feet, and most importantly, we have become capable of exporting our own manufactured weapons.
But remember, technological changes are happening constantly. In such a situation, we desperately need those superpowers from whom we can acquire their advanced weapons to further strengthen ourselves. In this regard, our collaboration with Russia is commendable. We hope that this collaboration will make our army even more capable.
