    Indiscriminate firing in Amritsar, Man attacked for stopping peddler from selling drugs

    A late-night shooting occurred in Amritsar, Punjab, in which one person got seriously injured. According to the family, David, a resident of the same village, along with about 20-25 of his companions, opened fire on Dilbag Singh (46) after he tried to stop them from selling drugs.

    Dilbag Singh fell to the ground bleeding after being hit by the bullets. Villagers gathered at the scene and rushed him to the hospital, where he is currently undergoing treatment. The incident occurred in Wadala Bhitewad village.

    The victim, Dilbag Singh’s family, reported that they were resting at home when they suddenly heard gunshots. Upon exiting, they found Dilbag Singh lying in a pool of blood. The family claims that Dilbag had been hit by two bullets in the shoulder.

    Wife said, “My husband, Amritdhari, was opposed to drug trafficking in the village, which is why he was attacked.” Dilbag Singh’s wife, Baljeet Kaur, said, “My husband, Amritdhari, opposed drug trafficking in the village. That is why David and several men accompanying him attacked him at night. Many of the young men were armed during the attack.”

    Baljit Kaur also claimed that a man named Mehtab is involved in the drug trade in the village and that the village head is also complicit. Police are investigating the matter.
