Indore Car Incident: Infosys Engineer Killed in Penthouse Dispute

Indore: a man crushed a woman to death with his car over a dispute regarding penthouse rent. The deceased, Shampa Pathak (Pandey), was a software engineer at Infosys. She had moved into a new flat with her two children and husband on March 13th.

The incident occurred Wednesday night at Sagar Shri Enclave Building, Shiv Vatika Township, MR-11 (Lasudia police station area). Police have detained the accused and his father.

According to police, the dispute was over the building’s penthouse. The accused, Kuldeep Chaudhary, and his son had purchased two penthouses and were renting them out through the Airbnb app, which the society members were protesting.

    Incident Captured on CCTV

On Sunday, the local councilor tried to mediate a compromise between the two parties, but the matter failed. Another altercation broke out on Wednesday night, after which Kuldeep’s son, Mohit Chaudhary, drove his car in anger and crushed people. According to police, Kuldeep was also present in the car at the time.

The entire incident was captured on CCTV cameras.

The incident caused chaos in the area. Police arrived at the scene and the injured were taken to a private hospital, where doctors declared Shampa Pathak dead.

Saurabh Pandey (a resident of Ayodhya) said that during the altercation, the accused’s son drove the car at a speed of 60-70 km/h. He said he narrowly escaped, but his wife, Shampa, was hit and later crushed by the car.

    Protests had erupted before

According to Saurabh, he had recently purchased the flat and moved in with his family a few days ago.

Residents say that the penthouse was not originally planned and later started being rented out through Airbnb, which increased the influx of outsiders. There had been protests and meetings regarding this issue before.
