Six Arrested in Indore MD Drug Case, Over 55 Grams of Contraband Seized

Indore: Indore Police have arrested six people and seized more than 55 grams of MD drugs in a case that allegedly led investigators to a drug supply link in Rajasthan’s Jhalawar district.

The arrests followed a dispute involving young men and women at a flat in the Niranjanpur area under Lasudia police station. When police reached the location, they allegedly found MD drugs in the possession of some people present there.

Police subsequently arrested Harsh Sharma, 40, Rupali Rawal, 25, and Rani Kaushal, 33. During questioning, the three allegedly told investigators that they had procured the drugs from Shahzad Chaudhary, a resident of Malviya Nagar, and Mohammad Saddam of Krishna Bagh Colony.

Police Trace Alleged Drug Supply Link to Rajasthan

Police later arrested Chaudhary and Saddam and questioned them about the source of the contraband. According to investigators, they identified Sheikh Anas, a resident of Barod in Rajasthan’s Jhalawar district, as the alleged supplier.

ACP Parag Saini said police contacted Anas based on the information provided during questioning and called him to Indore in connection with a suspected drug deal, following which he was arrested.

According to police, Anas had previously supplied MD drugs to several people in Indore. Investigators are now questioning him to identify other people allegedly involved in the network and determine the extent of the supply chain.

Accused Arrested Days Before Wedding

Police said Anas was arrested just four days before his scheduled wedding in Chandan Nagar. Preparations for the wedding were reportedly underway at his residence when police arrested him.

Investigators are also examining the criminal backgrounds of the accused. Police said Rawal had previously been booked at Khajrana police station under the Arms Act and the NDPS Act and was also facing an attempt-to-murder case.

Chaudhary and Saddam also reportedly have previous cases registered against them at Lasudia and Khajrana police stations.

The police investigation is continuing, with officials tracing the source of the seized MD drugs and identifying others allegedly connected to the supply network in Indore.
