Indore: Restaurant Owner’s Son Arrested for Allegedly Killing Employee Over Money Dispute

Indore: Police have arrested a 22-year-old man for allegedly killing a 55-year-old restaurant employee following a long-standing dispute over money and other issues in Madhya Pradesh’s Indore district.

The accused has been identified as Rahul Bhati, while the deceased was identified as Shriram Rajput, a resident of Shivkanth Nagar in Indore.

    Body Found Near Railway Tracks

The incident came to light on Sunday night after police received information about a body lying near railway tracks in the Banganga police station area.

Police reached the spot, secured the area and began an investigation. Following the collection of evidence, Rahul Bhati was arrested.

    Employee Had Pending Wages

According to police, Rajput worked at Ruchi Restaurant, owned by Bhati’s father. The two had reportedly been involved in disagreements, following which Rajput had stopped working at the restaurant around two months ago.

Police said Rajput also had pending wages.

Investigators allege that Bhati went to Rajput’s house and told him that he would pay his pending wages and resolve their dispute. He then allegedly took Rajput in his vehicle to the spot near the railway tracks.

    Iron Rod Recovered

Police said Bhati allegedly attacked Rajput with an iron rod, which has been recovered.

Investigators further alleged that the accused selected the railway track area to keep the incident away from public view and make it appear like an accident.

During questioning, police said Bhati admitted to having frequent disagreements with Rajput over issues including money and behaviour. Police said resentment arising from these disputes allegedly led to the killing.

Rahul Bhati is currently the sole main accused in the case. Police said the investigation is continuing and further action will be taken if evidence indicates the involvement of anyone else.
