After 5 years of COVID-19, a new virus infection is spreading in China once again. Its symptoms are also similar to the corona virus. The name of this new virus is Human Metapneumovirus (HMPV), which is an RNA virus.
When infected with the virus, patients show symptoms like cold and COVID-19. Its maximum effect is being seen on young children. Among these, children under 2 years of age are most affected.
According to China’s Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), its symptoms include cough, fever, nasal congestion and wheezing in the throat. Apart from HMPV, cases of Influenza A, Mycoplasma Pneumonia and COVID-19 are also coming up. Due to this, the number of patients has increased continuously.
Claim- China declared emergency
A post made on social media, while posting photos of patients, claimed that China has declared emergency in many places after the spread of the virus. According to the claim, the crowd is increasing in hospitals and crematoriums.
However, no such information has been given by China. According to the report of The Star, the CDC has said that patients already suffering from diseases like asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease are at higher risk of infection.
There is a high risk of the virus spreading through coughing and sneezing. If the effect of the virus is high, it can also cause bronchitis and pneumonia. According to Reuters, China is also testing a surveillance system to deal with this.
Corona virus was also spread from China in 2019
The first case of Covid-19 was found in Wuhan city of China in 2019. Then it was considered a mysterious pneumonia. It was spread by SARS-CoV-2 virus (corona virus).
After this, this virus spread rapidly in the world. On 30 January 2020, the World Health Organization declared it a global pandemic.
More than 70 crore cases of Covid were registered worldwide. Apart from this, more than 70 lakh deaths were also recoirded.
