Gaza: At least 18 Palestinians lost their lives in Israeli airstrikes on the central and northern regions of the Gaza Strip, as reported by Palestinian sources. Eyewitnesses indicated that Israeli warplanes targeted an apartment within the multi-story “Yaffa” Tower in the al-Nuseirat camp, resulting in eight deaths and 14 injuries, some of which are serious, according to Al-Awda Hospital.
In northern Gaza, Israeli shelling struck the Khilla family home in Jabalia Al-Balad, claiming the lives of 10 individuals and injuring several others, as reported by the Gaza Strip’s Civil Defence. The Israeli military has not commented on these events, as noted by Xinhua news agency.
Additionally, the military wing of Hamas, Al-Qassam Brigades, claimed that one of its fighters executed a suicide attack against a group of Israeli soldiers in Jabalia refugee camp, although there has been no response from the Israeli army regarding this incident.
The ongoing military campaign by Israel against Hamas in Gaza is a response to the Hamas attack on southern Israel on October 7, 2023, which resulted in around 1,200 deaths and 250 hostages being taken. As of Friday, the Palestinian death toll has reached 45,206, according to health authorities in Gaza.
