New Delhi: Elon Musk has accused Ukraine of being responsible for the outage of social media platform X.
In a conversation with Larry Kudlow on news channel, he said – We do not know exactly what happened, but there was a large-scale cyber attack from IP addresses originating from the Ukraine area to destroy the X system.
In fact, social media platform X went down three times on Monday. This caused problems for users all over the world.
The first time it went down for half an hour around 3:30 pm. Then it was down for an hour from 7 pm. After this, it was down from 8:30 pm to 10:30 pm.
Musk had posted at 10:55 pm Indian time on X and said – There has been a massive cyber attack on X. We face such attacks every day, but this time it has been done with many sources. Either a big group or a country is involved in this attack.
Users complained about the website, app and server connection. During the day, more than 4000 complaints were registered on the website Down Detector from India, 18,000 from the US and more than 10,000 from the UK.
41% people have problems with app connection
downdetector.in is a platform that tracks outages of websites and online services in real time. According to Downdetector, about 41% of people faced problems with the app. At the same time, 51% of people had problems accessing the web and about 8% reported that they had problems with server connection.
Two X outages reported in the past day
X has 611 million active monthly users
According to Statista, X has around 611 million users worldwide. It has 95 million users in the US and 27 million users in India. About 500 million posts are made every day. It was launched in July 2006.
This is not the first time the platform has encountered major technical difficulties. In March 2023, when X was still operating under its previous name, Twitter, users experienced a wave of glitches that disrupted services for over an hour. During that incident, links stopped working, some users were unable to log in, and images failed to load.
